Finding the right solar pool heater
You usually put in a lot of time and effort making deciding the fencing, furniture and other things of your swimming pool. In the same way, you also need to do a little research when it comes to finding a solar heater. If your pool is too cold to swim in for the major part of the year, then this means that you aren't getting the most out of your investment. Thus by heating the water of your pool you can extend the swimming season.
The best solar heater
There is no such best collector because every different swimming pool has different requirements. It is advisable not to spend too much money on equipment like a glass-covered insulated housing, which isn't exclusively used to heat pools. A cheaper and better alternative is the unglazed collector, it can deliver heat more effectively than the more expensive glass-covered collectors.
Maintenance of the solar heater
The operation and working of a solar heater are simple. Furthermore, not much maintenance is required apart from the usual check-ups. You can put the system on ‘auto' mode at the beginning of the season and set the desired water temperature. This will ensure uniform heating of the pool throughout the season. At the end of the season, you can just turn the switch ‘off. If your solar heating system can't drain the water completely then the solar panels should be winterized by uncapping the lowest solar panels to prevent freeze damage.
Only routine maintenance is the same you will always have to do for your pool, keep it clean and keep the chemical balance on the right level. It is smart to cut off the water to the pool if you use pool shock treatment with excessive amounts of chemicals.
